Speaking Against “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week”

Posted in Muslims & US Politics on Nov 03, 2007

A few day ago, a lot of US university campuses held what is being called as the Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. Their whole objective seemed to be to highlight the illegal and non-Islamic actions of those few that purport to be waving the banner of Islam.

Unfortunately, such events, as we all know and recognize are based on nothing but ignorance and fueled by the voices of the right-wing media, especially talk shows. Instead of holding such events that fan more hatred and mislead the uneducated, a forum garnered to promote education and understanding would bring more awareness to the masses. However, when overtaken by one-sided opinions, people rarely listen to the voices of reason - no matter how “college educated” they may be.

A great many Westerners do not see the clear distinction between Islam and Islamism (Islamofascism). They need to understand that the difference between Islam and Islamism (Islamofascism) is the same as the difference between Christianity and Christian Identity Movement (White Supremacy Movement).

U.S.A. is your country and as Muslims you must love it and protect it form any type of enemy-but this does not stop you to extend your special love to your Muslim brothers from other countries.
But the truth is that the country where you live and earn your bread and where you’re a citizen needs your fist consideration in whatever you do and I believe that this is in line with Islam
