A recent article published in CNN.com discusses about US government’s “plans” for Pakistan.
The article discusses that the US government’s recent “Plan B” failed with the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. This plan was supposedly a power sharing plan between President Musharraf and Benazir.
According to the article, the US is now focused on a “Plan C”, which is basically to find someone that can unite the nation. In that context, with so little options left, the US is considering Nawaz Sharif as an option too. The US does not like that option that much because of Nawaz’s “connections to Islamist parties”.
Reading this article and by listening to western media reports, one wonders whether Pakistanis have a plan of their own regarding their own country.
Others are more worried about the problems and the sensitive situation in Pakistan than the country leaders.
One wonders whether this is a case of incompetence of the Pakistanis or meddling in the affairs of others in Pakistan’s affairs…
Whatever the case, this definitely demonstrates the immaturity of the think tanks within Pakistan, and the consequences of lack of respect of the law of ones’ land.
